There have been lots of good pitchers in the City Section in the opening month of the season, but senior Moises Ceja of Granada Hills Kennedy might be the best.

He’s had games of 12, 12 and 13 strikeouts. He has an 0.66 ERA in 32 innings. He has walked just five batters and surrendered 21 hits.

‘He’s been able to command three pitches and get ahead of hitters,’ Coach Andy Rodriguez said.

Opposing teams are batting .186 against him.

Mark down April 3 on the calendar. That’s when Ceja is expected to face San Fernando’s All-City pitcher, Alonza Garcia, in a Valley Mission League pitcher’s duel at San Fernando.
