The first month of the baseball season has been good for junior pitcher Nathan Hadley of Los Angeles Loyola.

He has a scholarship offer from UC Irvine, and UCLA and USC are starting to pay close attention. Hadley is scheduled to start on the mound in game two of a doubleheader against Crescenta Valley on Tuesday at USC. The first game is at 6 p.m. and the second game at 8 p.m.

Hadley has been primarily used as a closer for Loyola, which is 3-1 in the Mission League. He has a solid fastball and a nasty slider. And he pitches well under pressure.

‘He’s hot right now,’ Coach Brian Felten said.
