Baseball: Hunter Holland gets two home runs, six RBIs for Valencia

Hunter Holland of Valencia took out the frustration of an eight-inning Foothill League loss to Canyon Country Canyon earlier in the week by getting four hits, including two home runs, and six RBIs in a 16-5 victory over Agoura on Saturday.

Valencia improved to 9-4.

Long Beach Poly scored three runs in the top of the seventh to defeat Santa Margarita, 4-3. Sterling Larsen had three hits. Arcadia defeated Los Osos, 9-1, behind pitcher Austin Georgen. Glendora defeated San Dimas, 5-0.

Newport Harbor defeated Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, 6-3. Three pitchers combined on a five-hitter to lift Laguna Hills past Beckman, 1-0.

Nogales (12-0) stayed unbeaten with a 9-1 win over Long Beach Jordan.

Fountain Valley improved to 13-1 with a 2-0 win over Campolindo and a 12-0 win over La Salle.

Gardena Serra (10-5) lost twice, losing to San Clemente, 5-4, and Dana Hills, 7-4.

Downey Warren improved to 8-3 with a 7-2 in over Valley Christian. Daryl Donerson, Dailin Lee, Chucky Castaneda, Rene Vega and Mike San Angelo each had two hits.

Venice won the Dennis Gilbert Spring Baseball Classic with a 12-1 win over Dorsey.
