Chatsworth (6-4), the City Section Division I title favorite, should get a boost this week when freshman pitcher Josh Garcia becomes academically eligible.

The Chancellors haven’t been hitting much, with only one player, Chris DeVito, hitting above .300. But their pitching has been very good, led by Jason Karkenny and Nick Milone. Garcia will be a nice addition, especially when Chatsworth begins West Valley League play against El Camino Real on April 9.

It appears that the City Section has lots of teams with solid pitching but not a whole lot of hitting. That means it’s going to come down to defense and pitching.
