Baseball: Agoura remains unbeaten in the Marmonte League

Agoura improved to 10-3 overall and 6-0 in the Marmonte League with a 4-2 win over Calabasas on Thursday.

Kyle London had two hits and two RBIs. He drove in the tie-breaking run in the sixth inning after Calabasas had tied the game, 2-2. Calabasas was playing its first game under interim Coach Ed Edsall, the former Coyotes coach who replaced Rob Dibble.

In the Sunset League, Fountain Valley improved to 10-1 overall and 5-0 in league with a 3-2 win over Marina. Edison defeated Huntington Beach, 3-1, behind Tyler Jones, who allowed three hits in 6 1/3 innings.

In the Pacific Coast League, Beckman improved to 11-1 and 5-0 with a 4-3 win over Irvine University. In the South Coast League, Mission Viejo defeated Trabuco Hills, 5-2, on a complete game by Patrick Sandoval.

In the Empire League, Cypress (9-3, 2-0) pulled out a 2-1 win over La Palma Kennedy. Kevin Lillicrop struck out four, walked none and threw a three-hitter. Elijah Skipps, David Fletcher and Stephen Lohr each had two hits.

Warren defeated Gahr, 5-4, with three runs in the bottom of the seventh. Freshmen Chuck Castaneda and Eric Menjivar each had two hits.

St. Francis defeated Bishop Amat, 3-2, in eight innings. Joe Steele struck out 11 in seven innings. John Bicos had the game-winning hit.

Oaks Christian defeated Oregon Wilsonville, 4-0 and 8-6. Brandon Evans went three for three in the first game and had a three-run double in the second game.

Alemany swept a doubleheader from Standley Lake, 5-4 and 19-0. Nick Suniga struck out eight in the first game. Kyle Merkel (3-0) struck out four in the second game. Sophomore Ruben Cardenas was six for seven and has nine hits in his last 10 at-bats.

In San Diego, El Camino Real was beaten by Poway, 9-5. Reseda Cleveland lost to San Dieguito, 4-2. Andrew Devian had three hits. Chaminade defeated Palisades, 8-0. Dallas Tessar hit a grand slam and three pitchers limited the Dolphins to three hits.

In San Luis Obispo, Westlake defeated Lompoc, 11-3. Taylor Woodall had a home run and three RBIs. Simi Valley defeated St. Ignatius, 9-5. Wyatt Hogan had three RBIs. Bryce Moore threw a complete game in Roya’s 3-1 win over San Luis Obispo.

In Arizona, Moorpark (13-4) won the Coach Bob National Invitational with a 6-2 win over Arizona North Canyon. Chase Fredrick struck out five and gave up six hits. Ryan Swanwon had two hits and three RBIs. Sherman Brawner went three for five with two RBIs.

Santa Barbara defeated Lake Oswego, 12-11, scoring five runs in the bottom of the seventh. Jeff Paschke’s two-out bases loaded single ended the game.
