The track and field season begins later this month, and all eyes will be on defending state champion Sherman Oaks Notre Dame. Senior Khalfani Muhammad, who won state titles in the 100 and 200 last season, is back and should lead the Knights.

‘He better run faster than ever,’ Coach Joe McNab said.

Notre Dame returns three of its four 400-meter relay runners in Muhammad, Nick Holland and Koa Farmer. Max Leon or Kyle Ause will be the fourth runner.

‘We should be good,’ McNab said.

Freshman Leo Lambert III has potential in the 400. He was a standout running back on the freshman football team.
