Football: Elijah Asante will be Santa Margarita assistant

Former Carson and St. Paul Coach Elijah Asante will become an assistant coach at Santa Margarita, Coach Harry Welch said.

‘I’m excited about having him,’ Welch said.

Asante might come in handy when the Eagles play Mater Dei, a team they’ve struggled with. Asante twice beat Mater Dei when he was coach at Carson.
