Boys’ basketball: Westlake to play for Marmonte League championship

The matchup is set for Thursday night at Westlake for the Marmonte League championship. It will be the host Warriors against Calabasas.

Westlake (21-4, 11-2) earned a chance to compete for the championship by knocking off Royal, 75-69, on Tuesday night. Larry Bush scored 23 points, Grant Lozoya had 18 and Joshua Brooks 17. Max McCoy and Austin Carr led Royal with 19 points apiece.

In the Alpha League, Brentwood received 30 points from Tra Holder and 23 points from Leland King in a 70-55 win over Paraclete. The Eagles still need a win on Thursday at Windward to win the title outright. Windward defeated Sierra Canyon, 42-36. Aaron Holiday scored 48 points in Campbell Hall’s 87-69 win over Viewpoint.

In the Foothill League, Hart defeated Valencia, 59-56. Lewis Stallworth scored 18 points.

In the Trinity League, Mater Dei defeated Orange Lutheran, 71-54. Elijah Brown scored 19 points. St. John Bosco defeated Servite, 70-25. Daniel Hamilton scored 28 points and Tyler Dorsey 14.

In the Bay League, Redondo clinched the championship with a 64-45 win over Palos Verdes coupled with a Leuzinger loss to West Torrance. Ian Fox had 13 points, Derek Biale 12 and Cameron Hill 11.

In the Ocean League, Santa Monica defeated Morningisde, 79-49. Jordan Mathews and his brother, Jonah, each scored 16 points.

In the South Coast League, Mission Viejo defeated Trabuco Hills, 56-39. Chandler Hutchison scored 12 points and Max Redfield 11. Mission Viejo is 23-3.

In the Sierra League, Chino Hills defeated Damien, 62-50. Cameron Curry had 15 points. Jeremy Hensley led Damien with 20 points.

In the Pacifc League, Pasadena clinched the championship with a 72-65 win over Crescenta Valley.
