Either Westchester’s Myles Stewart only makes three-pointers when I show up to his games or he’s a real good three-point shooter.

On a team that goes 12 deep, which sometimes means players are overlooked, I’m convinced that the 6-foot-5 Stewart, only a junior, has some big-time potential in him.

He was smiling after making a three-pointer late Saturday night in a pressure-filled situation at Mater Dei in the Nike Extravaganza. That kind of reaction tells me he loves sports competition, knows how to perform and is a player on the rise after being on junior varsity a year ago.

We’ll know more as the City Section and state playoffs unfold, but my hunch is Stewart has a bright future.
