Boys’ basketball: Three Marmonte League teams advance

Three Marmonte League teams are still alive in the Southern Section playoffs.

Westlake defeated Beaumont, 82-33, in 2A. Marcos Soto was four for four from three-point range and finished with 22 points.

Royal defeated Brea Olinda, 63-54, to advance to the 3AAA championship game against Tustin. Max McCoy had 21 points. Nick Creber had 10 points and seven rebounds, giving him 740 rebounds for his career, breaking the school record. Scott Woods added 10 points and seven blocks.

Thousand Oaks won a 2AA quarterfinal over Camarillo, 68-51. Dakota Pierce scored 25 points and Kyle Frakes had 20.

Redondo advanced to the 2A semifinals out of the Bay League with a 55-41 win over Glendora. Derek Biale scored 12 points and Chris Henderson 10.
