Baseball: Zach Miller is fired at Westlake

Just weeks before the start of the baseball season, Westlake High has fired Coach Zach Miller, who has run the program since 2008.

Miller said he was told by his principal on Monday, ‘We’re going in a different direction.’

Westlake has had a history of having sudden coaching changes in its baseball program.

Westlake is advertising the position within the district and hopes to have a replacement in a week, according to Jim Benkert, the school’s football coach and assistant athletic director.

Miller will continue to teach at the school.
