Two highly regarded former Newhall Hart baseball players who transferred to new schools have been declared ineligible for their senior seasons.

C.J. Witkowski, now at Chatsworth, and Luke Persico, now at Great Oak, were removed from Hart’s team last fall after violating school rules. They then transferred.

Chatsworth Athletic Director Jonathan Sheriff said based on information provided by Hart, Witkowski is ineligible to play for the Chancellors this season.

The Southern Section also has declared Persico, a UCLA signee, ineligible at Great Oak because of ‘disciplinary action at former school.’
