Baseball: Sean Barry strikes out 13, throws no-hitter for Moorpark

Senior pitcher Sean Barry of Moorpark was in dominant form on Thursday, striking out 13 and throwing a no-hitter in a 5-0 victory over Golden Valley. Taylor Ready went three for three.

Alemany defeated Chatsworth, 5-2. Rene Deleon threw 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief, striking out six. Gus Mendoza and Ruben Cardenas had two hits each. Hart defeated St. Bonaventure, 2-1. Tyler Geissler threw a complete game. Nick Valaika and Dayton Provost had two hits each.

Thousand Oaks defeated Burbank, 2-1, on a six-hitter by Dylan Francis.

Long Beach Poly is 5-0 after a 3-1 win over Villa Park. Peter Fierros had a two-out, two-run double and retired the last eight hitters for the save.

Cypress (3-0) made zero errors for the third consecutive game in a 4-0 win over Edison. Kevin Lillicrop threw a complete game, allowing five hits. Huntington Beach defeated JSerra, 4-1.

Simi Valley defeated Lancaster, 7-4. Dylan Alexander had two hits and two RBIs. Calabasas defeated Rio Mesa, 8-3. Camarillo defeated El Camino Real, 3-2, in eight innings.

Shane Timmons had the game-winning hit in the bottom of the seventh as Capistrano Valley defeated Bishop Amat, 3-2. Brian Hessling threw a complete game.

Dos Pueblos defeated Westlake, 9-3. Cleveland defeated Palmdale, 10-1. Jack Hartman struck out six in a complete game. Harley Faye had a double and home run. West Ranch defeated Newbury Park, 7-6. Cody Bennett threw a scoreless sixth and seventh for the save. Tyler Woldanski was four for four. Jagger Rusconi hit a home run and had three hits.

Adam Maciel had a home run and double in Pacifica’s 12-2 win over Arleta. Beckman defeated San Juan Hills, 4-3. Dylan Stablein struck out four in 6 1/3 innings. Rim of the World defeated Ramona, 6-5.

St. Paul defeated La Habra, 2-1, in 10 innings. Sean Sparling allowed three hits and one earned run in seven innings for La Habra.
