Baseball: Gardena Serra trio will have to sit out until April 1

Solomon Bates, Roosevelt Bates and Marcus Wilson, three players who transferred to Gardena Serra, will have to sit out the first month of the baseball season per CIF transfer rules, Athletic Director Ted Dunlap said.

They will become eligible on April 1. The Bates brothers transferred from Victor Valley. Wilson transferred from Los Angeles Hamilton.

Wilson and Solomon Bates are pitchers. Their absence has already affected Serra, which lost to Downey, 15-7, on Monday after its pitching collapsed.
