The Hilinski family is moving back to Claremont, which means sophomore quarterback Tyler Hilinski will transfer from Sherman Oaks Notre Dame to Upland, his father, Mark, said Thursday night.

The family has decided to move closer to an ill family member.

Hilinski was the backup on varsity this past season to his brother, Kelly, a senior.

He has tremendous potential as a passer and more mobility than his brother.

His father said the decision has nothing to do with Notre Dame.
