Mike Christensen is no longer the football coach at Los Angeles Loyola after three seasons.

Christensen left Carson three years ago to replace Jeff Kearin, who was forced out. Christensen’s departure was revealed last Friday to coaches and announced to the players on Monday morning.

Principal Frank Kozakowski said there were ‘a combination of whole different factors’ in the coaching change. Christensen will continue to teach at Loyola until his contract ends at the conclusion of the school year.

As for a replacement, Kozakowski said there are a ‘number of inhouse candidates.’

Athletic Director Chris O’Donnell said ties to Loyola would be preferred in a candidate to replace Christensen.
