The Pasadena Unified School District has blocked the hiring of former UCLA assistant Eric Scott as the new coach at Pasadena. A district spokesman told the Pasadena Sun that Scott won’t be the coach.

Scott said earlier this week that he had made an appointment to be finger-printed and move forward in taking over the football program.

Adam Wolfson, a spokesman for the district, told the paper, ‘We ran a standard employee background check and a decision was made to go elsewhere.’

Scott previously was head coach at Compton Centennial. He also was an assistant at UCLA.

‘I was good enough to be hired at Compton Centennial. I’m not good enough for Pasadena?’ Scott said.
