The Mission League football competition between Gardena Serra and West Hills Chaminade keeps getting more intriguing every month.

The two schools battled it out last season, with Chaminade prevailing, 28-20, in a close league game, then Serra beat the Eagles, 30-28, in the Western Division championship game. Nothing should change in 2013 as far as one or the other competing for a championship.

So in the off season, it’s all about adding new players, and Chaminade has added three transfer students.

Brandyn Lee, a sophomore receiver who caught 30 passes at Chatsworth Sierra Canyon, has enrolled at Chaminade, along with junior running back-cornerback Kieran Yancy, who played at Sierra Canyon. The Eagles also added junior defensive end Garrett Scarpace from Hueneme. He’s 6 feet 3, 200 pounds, and his father is Mike Scarpace, who played on USC’s 1967 national championship team and has coached in high school and college.
