Sarah Baxter of Simi Valley has been named the Gatorade national runner of the year in girls' cross country.

She was presented her award on Friday at school with a surprise visitor, track star Allyson Felix.

Baxter, a junior, hasn't lost a cross country race in high school during her three-year varsity career.
