One of the best uncommitted players in the Southland continues to be senior guard Trey Mason of Los Angeles Loyola. He’s averaging 16.4 points after a 28-point performance on Saturday against St. John Bosco in which he made six three-pointers.

He picked up a new fan in Braves Coach Derrick Taylor.

‘He’s the best shooter I’ve seen in years,’ Taylor said. ‘I’d line him up against anyone.’

Mason has been doing a good job serving as Loyola’s key scoring threat while waiting for point guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright to return from an ankle injury.
