Boys’ basketball: Thousand Oaks pulls out win over Calabasas

The fans from both sides were yelling from start to finish, but it was the Thousand Oaks fans who had the most to cheer about after the Lancers pulled out a 46-43 victory over Calabasas in a Marmonte League game at Thousand Oaks.

Dakota Pierce gave the Lancers (16-3, 5-1) the lead on a basket with 1:26 left, 44-43. Tanner Fanjoy added two free throws with 4.6 seconds left.

Pierce finished with 16 points. Max Hoetzel led Calabasas (15-3, 5-1) with 17 points. The Lancers outscored Calabasas, 14-5, in the fourth quarter.

Westlake took over sole possession of first place with a 60-53 victory over Royal. Grant Lozoya had 15 points and Isaiah Brooks 14 for the Warriors (16-2, 6-0), who play Calabasas on Monday. Max McCoy finished with 17 points
