When Jordan Wilson of Los Angeles Windward banked in a three-pointer from the top of the key as the first half ended on Saturday at Fairfax High, it was clear he was hot.

‘I was feeling it,’ he said.

Wilson made seven three-pointers and finished with 33 points in Windward’s 86-72 victory over Alemany in the Fairfax State Preview Classic. Windward, ranked No. 7 by The Times in the preseason, is 14-8 and finally playing like a top 25 team. Earlier in the week, the Wildcats knocked off Pacific Hills.

‘We’re getting there,’ Coach Miguel Villegas said. ‘The sophomores and freshmen finally know the system.’

But it was the shooting show put on by Wilson, headed to Northern Colorado, that sent Alemany to its third consecutive loss this week.

‘I thought he was unbelievable,’ Villegas said.

Charles Dawson added 16 points. Alemany (14-9) received 18 points from Bear Henderson.

Santa Monica (16-5), ranked No. 1 in Division 1A, was upset by Compton, 57-54. Kyron Cartwright had 21 points for Compton (15-7), which got a critical basket with 32 seconds left from Isaiah Cartwright, who had 14 points. Santa Monica, down by 11 points, started the third quarter with an 11-0 run. Jordan Mathews finished with 20 points.
