Boys' basketball: Jamaal Wilkes to be honored by Ventura High

Ventura High will honor Jamaal Wilkes at halftime of its game against Santa Barbara on Jan. 28 at 7 p.m.

Wilkes, who went on to star at UCLA and in the NBA and was inducted last year into the basketball Hall of Fame, played for Ventura in his sophomore and junior years before relocating to Santa Barbara after his father's job changed.

He also attended elementary school and middle school in Ventura.
