In overtime on Monday night, Max Hazzard of Loyola scored with three seconds left to put the Cubs on top, 80-79, in a Mission League game against Encino Crespi.

Coach Russell White designed a play to get the ball to London Perrantes or Max Heidegger. Except it didn’t happen. Carter Gallo got the pass, dribbled and made a shot from just inside the half-court line as the buzzer sounded, giving Crespi an 82-80 victory.
