Boys’ basketball: A four-way tie for first place in Marmonte League

The Marmonte League basketball race got even tighter on Tuesday night after Royal and Thousand Oaks came through with victories, creating a four-way tie for first place.

Jacob Lachina had 16 points and Dakota Pierce scored 14 points to help Thousand Oaks hold off Westlake, 58-56. Larry Bush led Westlake with 14 points.

Scott Woods scored 14 points, had 16 rebounds, six blocks and four assists in Royal’s 59-43 win over Calabasas. Austin Carr added 14 points and Weston Park 11. Alex Monsegue had 14 points for Calabasas.

Royal (17-6, 9-2), Calabasas (19-4, 9-2), Thousand Oaks (20-4, 9-2) and Westlake (19-4, 9-2) are tied for first place.

In the Baseline League, Etiwanda defeated Los Osos, 61-42. Tim Myles had 12 points and eight rebounds. Etiwanda (19-2) plays Loyola on Saturday at the Nike Extravaganza at Mater Dei. Rancho Cucamonga (20-4) defeated Upland, 71-58. Victor Joseph scored 23 points.

In the Bay League, Redondo defeated Mira Costa, 62-56. Ian Fox contributed 13 points, Derek Biale 12 and Cameron High 11.

In the Olympic League, Village Christian (19-3) defeated Whittier Christian, 83-45.
