You might need a helicopter to attend all the big-time league showdowns and tournament games this coming week.

Besides the Nike Extravaganza on Friday and Saturday at Santa Ana Mater Dei, this week could mark the return of two top juniors. Parker Jackson-Cartwright of Los Angeles Loyola could receive doctor’s clearance to return on Friday for a Mission League showdown against host Encino Crespi after resting an injured ankle. And Harvard-Westlake could get back forward Derick Newton, who has been recovering from a shoulder injury.

The big games begin on Monday night, with Brentwood hosting Pacific Hills in a first-place showdown in the Alpha League. In the Western League, Fairfax is at Palisades.

On Tuesday, the Marmonte League tries to figure out which two teams are best, with Calabasas playing at Royal and Westlake at Thousand Oaks. On Wednesday, it’s the day of the week to rent a helicopter: St. John Bosco at Mater Dei, El Toro at Mission Viejo, Gardena Serra at Bishop Montgomery.

On Friday, the gym at Crespi figures to be overflowing, with London Perrantes taking on the Cubs.

On Saturday at Mater Dei, St. John Bosco will face Long Beach Poly, Etiwanda will play Loyola and Mater Dei will take on Westchester among the featured games.
