Boys’ basketball: A 42-point performance by Aaron Holiday

When your older brother is playing in the NBA, you better do something good to be noticed. Sophomore Aaron Holiday, whose brother, Jrue, plays for the Philadelphia 76ers, is doing just fine for North Hollywood Campbell Hall.

He scored 42 points on Tuesday in the Vikings’ 82-71 Alpha League victory over Viewpoint.

In the Foothill League, Kevin Harris made a quick recovery after being held to one point in a loss to Pacific Hills on Monday night, scoring 32 points in West Ranch’s 70-63 victory over Valencia. Ako Kaluna added 17 points and 14 rebounds. West Ranch remains in first place going into a Friday showdown at home against Hart.

Hart defeated Canyon, 68-50. Myles Franklin scored 18 points and Lewis Stallworth had 15. Stanley Wilder contributed 10 rebounds.

Etiwanda continued to dominate in the Baseline League, routing Glendora, 75-38. Jordan McLaughlin scored 16 points. Rancho Cucamoga defeated Alta Loma, 85-71. Malcolm Drumwright scored 30 points.
