Bishop Amat requests to be in Mission League for all sports [Updated]

January 9, 2013 |  5:26 pm

Officials at La Puente Bishop Amat have told athletic directors in the Catholic Athletic Assn. that the school wants to join the Mission League for all sports except football, where several Mission League teams currently play in the Serra League with Bishop Amat.

The CAA will be responsible for putting schools into leagues for the newest re-leaguing cycle in 2014.

Much will depend on whether St. Bonaventure and Oaks Christian win their appeals to stay in the Northern placement area.

A decision on whether Southern Section officials will reverse their decision to place St. Bonaventure and Oaks Christian in the parochial placement area should come later this month.
