Football: The hot coach is Ryan Maddox of Monrovia
You know how in college football, hot coaches suddenly get offered big money to leave their school? Well, Ryan Maddox of Monrovia is the hot coach in high school football. His team won its third consecutive Mid-Valley Divison championship on Friday night, beating Paraclete, 23-7.
In five seasons, Maddox has won three titles and finished runner-up on another occasion. And this season, he didn't have Ellis McCarthy on the offensive and defensive lines to dominate.
Ge Vontray Ainsworth rushed for 132 yards and one touchdown.
Monrovia (12-2) should get a CIF regional bowl bid on Sunday.
