Football: Terrell Newby is the Mission League player of the year

Running back Terrell Newby of West Hills Chaminade has been named the Mission League player of the year. He scored 105 career touchdowns and led the Eagles to the league championship.

The most valuable offensive players were quarterbacks Chad Kanoff of Harvard-Westlake and Hayden Rettig of Cathedral. The most valuable defensive players were junior linebacker Rick Gamboa of Chaminade and junior defensive back Adoree’ Jackson of Gardena Serra. The most valuable linemen were Cory Harris of Chaminade and Inoke Raikadroka of Serra.
