Football: Madison wins state Division III bowl game

Madison has hung on to defeat Marin Catholic 38-35 to win the CIF state championship Division III bowl game at Home Depot Center in Carson.

Arizona commit Pierre Cormier rushed for three touchdowns, including the game-winner midway through the fourth quarter as the Warhawks notched the first win of the weekend for Southern California.

Madison rallied from a 21-0 deficit early in the second quarter. The Warhawks scored 31 unanswered points to take a 31-21 lead, but fell behind 35-31 before Cormier’s 79-yard run put them ahead to stay.
