Football: A ticket mystery at Open Division bowl game

The City Section ran Saturday's CIF Open Division regional bowl game at Cerritos College and reported selling 2,970 tickets at the game. Corona Centennial reported a presale of 758 tickets. Narbonne reported a presale of 61 tickets.

That's 3,789 tickets sold, but it appeared that more than 6,000 fans were at the stadium, so how did the extra people get in without tickets?

I know there's bands, cheerleaders, media, but that's not 2,000 worth of freebies. It's a ticket mystery.

The Northern California regional drew 10,197 at Sacramento State.
