Boys' basketball: Three Orange County teams stay unbeaten

Orange Lutheran (10-0), Santa Ana Mater Dei (10-0) and Mission Viejo (12-0) stayed unbeaten on Saturday night and are on a collision course to meet this season.

Payton Banks scored 41 points and had 11 rebounds to become the all-time leading rebounder in Orange Lutheran history during the Lancers' 72-64 win over Palisades in the championship game of the Windward tournament. Palisades had five players foul out.

Mater Dei won the Jerry Tarkanian tournament championship in Las Vegas with a 76-60 win over Bishop Gorman. Tournament MVP Stanley Johnson scored 23 points and had 13 rebounds. Elijah Brown contributed 22 points. Brown, Jordan Strawberry and Mario Soto made all-tournament.

Mission Viejo continued to roll behind Evan Zeller, who scored 24 points in a 87-65 victory over Anaheim Canyon. Sage Stone added 20 points and 10 rebounds.

All three schools are in Southern Section 1AA.
