Boys’ basketball: Tanner Lancona leads Tesoro to eighth win in a row

Tanner Lancona, a 6-foot-7 senior at Tesoro who signed with Washington State, scored 23 points and had 17 rebounds to help the Titans (8-1) win their eighth consecutive game on Wednesday, a 60-52 win over Laguna Beach.

Mission Viejo is 8-0 after a 77-57 win over Huntington Beach Edison. Evan Zeller scored 27 point and Sage Stone had 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Highland knocked off Canyon Country Canyon, 50-46. Dean Hendrix-Davis had 15 points for Canyon (8-2).

LaVerne Lutheran defeated L.A. Windward, 54-45.

Corona Centennial remained unbeaten with a 92-62 win over Redlands East Valley. Sam Finley scored 25 points. Etiwanda defeated Corona Santiago, 62-55. Kenny Barnes scored 17 points and Jordan McLaughlin 16. Chino Hills defeated Los Osos, 69-48. Bishop Mency had 20 points and three blocks.

Servite defeated Anaheim Canyon, 53-52.

Village Christian (8-0) stayed unbeaten with a 69-30 win over Hamilton in the Beverly Hills tournament.

In an East Valley League game, sophomore Cesar Reyes scored 34 points and junior Sal Gonzalez had 12 points and 10 assists in Sun Valley Poly’s 77-19 win over Monroe.

Lawndale defeated Palos Verdes, 58-44. Will Newman scored 20 points.
