Boys' basketball: Sophomore Myles Franklin leads Hart to 7-0 start [Video]
Top teams rely on top point guards, and Newhall Hart is building its young team around sophomore point guard Myles Franklin.
Franklin scored 26 points on Wednesday in Hart's 68-53 victory over La Canada. Hart is off to a 7-0 start.
Lewis Stallworth had 16 points and Davis Koppenhaver 13. Brendan Hempstead led La Canada (5-2) with 13 points.
"It's attack, attack, attack for me this year," Franklin said.
Hart is set to open Foothill League play on Jan. 8 in a showdown game against West Ranch that should pack Hart's gym.
"A lot of people are looking forward to it," Franklin said. "It's going to be a great game."
Coach Tom Kelly said about the Indians, "I think we're fast and have some guys who can score, but we have to do a better job defending and rebounding. That's the key."
