Boys' basketball: Santa Monica leading at halftime

Santa Monica used a late second-quarter surge to take a 35-32 halftime lead over Loyola in the semifinals of the Santa Monica tournament. 

Vikings star Jordan Mathews has 14 points to lead all scorers. Santa Monica trailed 19-12 after the first quarter. 

Trey Mason has 10 points and Parker Jackson-Cartwright has nine for the Cubs, who dealt Santa Monica its only loss last week at the South Bay Classic in Torrance.
