Boys' basketball: Oak Park is ready to make run at St. John Bosco

Don't laugh, but Oak Park isn't afraid of Bellflower St. John Bosco, everyone's pick to win Southern Section Division 3A this season.

Last season, the Eagles beat St. John Bosco, 67-66, in the playoff semifinals. Oak Park is full of talent again, led by Ron Lee Jr. and J.D. Slajchert.

The Eagles improved to 2-0 on Tuesday with a 76-47 rout of Agoura in their own tournament. Lee scored 22 points and Slajchert had 19 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

Oak Park continues action Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. against Reseda.
