Boys’ basketball: Evan Zeller scores school-record 50 points

Evan Zeller of Mission Viejo scored a school-record 50 points on Tuesday in the Diablos’ 115-50 win over Irvine University. He achieved his record in only three quarters of action. Mission Viejo is 7-0.

Brentwood won its Alpha League opener with a 68-49 win over Sierra Canyon. Tra Holder scored 28 points and Leland King 17. Brentwood is 8-1 overall.

In the Coliseum League, Crenshaw defeated rival Dorsey, 73-62. Andre Edwards scored 21 points.
