Boys’ basketball: It’s a Westchester-Bishop Montgomery final

Nick Reese scored 17 points to help Westchester defeat Long Beach Jordan, 78-65, in a semifinal game of the Westchester tournament. The Comets will face Bishop Montgomery in Saturday’s final. Bishop Montgomery defeated Gardena Serra, 70-53. Lamond Murray Jr. scored 17 points and Stephen Thompson Jr. haad 14. Ajon Efferson had 18 for Serra.

In a consolation game, sophomore Darius Henderson scored 25 points and Kris Yanku 19 in Taft’s 85-62 win over Long Beach Millikan. Peninsula defeated Windward, 62-53, despite 23 points from Roy Hemsley.

St. John Bosco advanced to the championship game of the El Rancho tournament with a 94-67 win over Sunny Hills. Isaac Hamilton scored 28 points and Tyler Dorsey 27. The Braves will face View Park Prep in the final.

Hart won the Crescenta Valley tournament with a 60-43 win over Kennedy. Lewis Stallworth was the MVP.

In the Ocean View tournament, Mater Dei defeated Compton, 64-56, and will play JSerra in the final. Stanley Johnson had 20 points and 13 rebounds.

Valencia won the Oak Park tournament with a 61-58 win over the host Eagles. Ron Lee Jr. didn’t play because of an injury. Agoura defeated Notre Dame, 67-57. Luca Ferrari had 21 points for Notre Dame.

In the Arroyo Grande tournament, Thousand Oaks defeated Clovis North, 55-44. Kyle Frakes scored 11 points and Tanner Fanjoy 10.

In the Canyon tournament, Canyon defeated Grant, 53-50, and will play Foothill League rival Saugus in the final.

In the Arroyo tournament, Arroyo defeated Arcadia, 67-64, in double overtime. Primitivo Gomez had 36 points and 20 rebounds.

In the University tournament, University defeated St. Bernard, 60-52, to advance to Saturday’s 4:45 p.m. championship game against Buckley. Chatsworth defeated Banning, 57-48. Michael Morrissey had 18 points. Sophomore Aaron Holiday had 39 points in Campbell Hall’s 82-63 win over Dorsey.

Damien improved to 6-0 with a 59-54 win over Alta Loma. Jared Dizon had 20 points and Jeremy Hemsley scored 19 points. La Salle defeated Servite, 59-55. Milan Acquaah had 24 points. La Salle is 5-0. Oxnard Santa Clara rallied with an 18-0 run in the fourth quarter to defeat Paramount, 51-48. Deandre Jones scored 18 points.

In the Moopark tournament, Birmingham lost to Moorpark, 71-61, despite 21 points from Iseah Rodgers. Royal defeated Camarillo, 48-38. Max McCoy scored 16 points.

Nick Spates scored 32 points in Verbum Dei’s 60-55 win over Verdugo Hills.
