Girls' volleyball: La Salle sweeps Division 1A final

_B171537Pasadena La Salle overcame a 24-19 deficit in the third set to sweep Placentia El Dorado, 25-16, 25-20, 29-27, in the CIF Southern Section Division 1A championship match at Santiago Canyon College.

Riley Spriestersbach and Katrina Palffy each had 10 kills for the second-seeded Lancers (34-20, who lost to Glendora St. Lucy's in the Division 2AA final last season. 

Kelly Claes had 11 kills and Tess Hultgren added nine for the Golden Hawks (20-14), who upset St. Lucy's in the quarterfinals.

The stage is now set for the final match of the day, the Division 1AA showdown between top-seeded Redondo and second-seeded Los Angeles Marymount.   

At Cypress College, Garden Grove Orangewood defeated Pasadena St. Monica Academy in five sets to win the Division 5A championship.
