Football: Palos Verdes is on a 10-game winning streak

One of the hottest teams left in the Southern Section football playoffs is Palos Verdes, which is on a 10-game winning streak since opening the season with three losses.

Palos Verdes is playing Bay League rival West Torrance in the Northern Division final. Who would have thought that it would be an all-Bay League final instead of an all-Foothill League final?

But Palos Verdes pulled off the big surprise, knocking off Hart and Valencia in back-to-back playoff games. Running back Matt Lopes has been running wild of late.

Palos Verdes earlier defeated West Torrance, 47-14, in league play.
