Harbor City Narbonne (12-0) continued its march toward a perfect season in the City Section with a 45-0 win over Garfield, and don’t anyone question how good the Gauchos truly are.

They own wins over two Pac-5 Division semifinalists, Long Beach Poly and Mater Dei. They own a win over Western DIvision semifinalist Gardena Serra. They own a win over Northern Division semifinalist Palos Verdes. And they own a win over City Division I semifinalist Carson.

And their schedule remains tough. Next up is a rematch against Carson. Still lurking is a possible City championship game against rising Crenshaw.

Then comes a likely CIF state championship Open Division regional bowl game against the Pac-5 or Inland Division champion. All which could lead to a week 16 game against Concord De La Salle.

There’s still much left in the season, and Narbonne keeps piling up accomplishments because the players and coaches are taking it one week at a time.
