Football: Long Beach Poly leading 6-0 at halftime

In a hard-hitting defensive game Long Beach Poly leads visiting St. John Bosco, 6-0, at halftime of tonight's Pac-5 Division semifinal at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Gerard Wicks scored on a six-yard run late in the first quarter for the only points. Wicks has 78 yards and the Jackrabbits have amassed 154 of their 226 yards on the ground. Poly has hurt itself by committing seven penalties for 45 yards. 

St. John Bosco is still in the game despite being limited to 36 yards and one first down. Brett Baldwin made a big play by intercepting a pass at the Braves' 25-yard line with 20 seconds left in the half.
