What a season it has been for Laguna Beach (10-0-1) and Coach Mike Churchill. Seeded No. 2 in the Southern Division, Laguna Beach has scored 17 touchdowns this season on runbacks, including 12 on kickoffs or punt returns.

The latest came last week in a playoff opener against Loara. Robert Clemons and Nathan Lancaster returned punts 74 and 41 yards, respectively, for touchdowns.

There have been nine punt returns, four kickoff returns, four interception returns and one fumble return for touchdowns. The special teams coach deserves a plaque for excellence.

Drake Martinez, the brother of Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez, has scored 30 touchdowns. He also has rushed for 1,274 yards. Lancaster has rushed for 1,000 yards and scored 18 touchdowns.
