Football: City Section final will be national telecast [Update]

November 26, 2012 | 10:02 am

Time Warner Cable has decided to broadcast Saturday night's 7 p.m. City Section Division I championship football game between Harbor City Narbonne and Crenshaw at East Los Angeles College live on TWC SportsNet, its Lakers channel that's seen nationally.

It will also broadcast the game live on Time Warner Cable Deportes in Spanish. That's a big change, because the game was originally scheduled to be shown live only on Deportes.

The Division II game between Canoga Park and San Fernando at 3 p.m. will be broadcast on Deportes.

Time Warner Cable’s Channel 101, an English-language station, has chosen to televise live the San Diego Section Division II final at 7:30 p.m.

City Section Commissioner Barbara Fiege made an appeal to Time Warner Cable, and everything has worked out well.

Time Warner is also committed to televising live the CIF state girls’ volleyball championships on its HD channel on Saturday night.

Time Warner acquired TV rights from the City Section and San Diego Section earlier this year.
