Cross country: Palisades sophomore Marissa Williams wins City title

The City Section girls’ cross country championship was dominated by sophomore Marissa Williams of Palisades. She ran away with the individual title on Saturday at Pierce College, winning in 16:48.41.

San Pedro won the girls’ title.

In the boys’ competition, junior Edwin Morales of Santee won the title, winning in 16:00.94. Jonathon Tewodros of Palisades was second in 16:32.45.

Santee won the boys’ team title.

In the small schools division, Stern won the boys’ title and Port of Los Angeles took the girls’ title.

Edwin Cruz of Stern won the boys’ competition with a time of 17:23.11. Freshman Kendra Moran from Port of Los Angeles won the girls’ competition in 21:14.60.
