Cross country: Palisades has a sophomore star in Marissa Williams
There's no longer any doubt that Palisades High has a sophomore sensation in Marissa Williams. She set a Pierce College course record last week in the Western League girls' cross country finals, running 16:37.
She'll be heavily favored to lead qualifiers at Thursday's City Section prelims at Pierce.
Williams gave a clue to her talent last year as a freshman in track, winning City Section titles in the 1,600 and 3,200.
