Sometimes after basketball games, when players line up to shake hands, fights have started. Don’t try that with Santa Monica High.

Among the team’s players this season is Ray Mancini, the son of Ray ‘Boom Boom’ Mancini, the World Boxing Assn. lightweight boxing champion from 1982-84.

Asked if he has picked up any boxing skills from his father, Mancini said, ‘I’ve learned.’
