Boys' basketball: Celebration in the London Perrantes family

November 14, 2012 |  8:47 am

Fab_forumThere will be lots of celebrations across Southern California on Wednesday as athletes sign letters of intent.

For point guard London Perrantes of Encino Crespi, signing on Wednesday with Virginia produced a family celebration even though he'll be heading off in the fall far from home.

He has worked so hard to reach his status as one of the best basketball players in California.

At one point, he was going to try to become a quarterback and who knows how good he might have become. But basketball is the sport he loves, and his improvement and progress is testament to his work ethic.

So the reward of getting his college education paid for is well deserved. But he's not alone, and that's why there will be lots of celebrations on Wednesday and relief in families knowing their sons and daughters have a chance to receive a college education.
