At a Thanksgiving baseball tournament this past weekend at Valencia West Ranch, Studio City Harvard-Westlake showed there’s life after Lucas Giolito and Max Fried.

Casey Rosenfeld, a much-improved senior center fielder, ignited the Wolverines as the leadoff batter all weekend. Harvard-Westlake went 3-0 against Simi Valley, West Ranch and Sherman Oaks Notre Dame. Also hitting well was junior Jack Flaherty, who threw four innings on Saturday, allowing one run.

Another top player was sophomore center fielder Jordan Myrow of Notre Dame. He had a home run and triple. He started last year as a freshman.

West Ranch, which went 2-1, received strong hitting from Jagger Rusconi.
